About Katlyn Reilly Photography
I firmly believe that when you hire a wedding photographer, you’re not only hiring them for their vision and photographic style, you’re hiring someone with whom you will feel comfortable with photographing you and your family on one of the most important days of your life.
My photography has a healthy mix of lifestyle and photojournalism represented throughout the wedding day.
So, what does that mean? I want to photograph you getting married and looking amazing doing it. I want your photos to be breathtaking, but I want to document it as it unfolds, too.
Ok, so.. I want to remain unobtrusive for parts of the wedding day, like when you are getting ready, your wedding ceremony, or getting down at your reception. I will be more hands on for other parts of the wedding day, like jumping in to fix a tie, a flyaway hair, or to pose you for your family formal photographs or portraits.
I’m pretty easy going. I’m organized and professional, but I want you to have fun and enjoy your wedding day. Let's face it- wedding days, in all their glory, can be overwhelming. Wedding photography should not be in that category.
When you look back at your photos, I want you to get that funny feeling in your chest, like you were back at your wedding day all over again. I want you to think about the love you felt for each other on that day, not that your photographs took way too long or stressed you out.
Like most photographers, I’ve been in love with imagery and photography ever since I can remember. It started when I was young; be it a Polaroid, a disposable 35 mm camera, or even my dad’s over the shoulder video camera- I wanted any camera in my hands. Looking at photographs from years gone by thrilled me. I used to go into my parent’s bedroom, plop myself down in front of my mother’s closet, and sift through her boxes and boxes of photographs. Cross-legged on the floor, I loved going through her albums and loose leaf photographs, traveling through relics of our family history. I'm a nostalgia hoarder- if you are too, we might be the right fit! ;)
I'm a bit of a book worm. I also love to practice yoga, nothing like a hot vinaysa session to get me feeling good. I love Doctor Who and my doctor will always be 10. Allons-y! I am also an avid listener of podcasts, specifically CaseFile and The Last Podcast on the Left.
I met my husband in my early twenties when we were co-workers in a Walmart super center photo lab. After several years of being friends we became, well, more than. We have been married since 2013 and have a young son who was born in 2018 and an older and very opinionated Siberian Husky named Cal.
